Onsite AV/IT Technician

Position Summary:

Maintain all AV systems, provide technical support, guidance and recommendations for future technology enhancements and handle all AV needs for meetings and events on site. The technician will be experienced in a multitude of audio visual technologies to include AMX controllers, video multi-processors, video/audio teleconferencing; managing office systems, networks, servers, computers, phone systems, virtual environments, and setting up, operating and maintaining all AV equipment used for live events, recordings and teleconferences.

Essential Functions:

Monitor all AV equipment and systems in assigned facility for optimum performance.
Diagnose all AV equipment and system problems to at least an industry accepted tier 2 support level.
Install software and perform tests on AV equipment and programs as required/needed.
Provide instructions and training for AV equipment usage in facility.
Provide system reports to agency partners or their designees on a monthly basis.
Utilize industry accepted Preventative Maintenance Plans (PMP) best practices with AV.
Provide PMP quarterly reports to facility partners.
o Report should identify any issues and provide suggested recommendations to mitigate the problem.
Work closely with AV Manager on strategic planning of AV systems short & long term equipment lifecycles.
Set up, operate, maintain and repair equipment used in live events, such as microphones, videos recorders, projectors, lighting and sound equipment, etc.
Meeting support, including system set-up and operation.
Sustainment and issue resolution through use of a trouble ticketing
system with the ability to escalate issues to appropriate third party technical support.
Spare and consumable equipment tracking and reporting to ensure that
proper inventory levels are maintained to satisfy mission requirements.
o This information should be reported in the quarterly systems report
Interface with vendors and industry experts on current and future technology in support of the facility
o Maintain professional relationships with equipment vendors to assist with system upgrades and feature enhancements, as needed.
Provide weekly labor utilization reports and monthly status reporting,
including ongoing project, issue status, and training statistics for facility partners
Train identified stakeholders on usage of the AV systems.
Microsoft Office proficiency in reference to creating documents/reports.
Microsoft Office proficiency in reference to AV software and maintenance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor degree or relevant work experience, preferably in Information Technology, digital media, audio visual technology or a related field
2-5 years of experience working in the AV Technology field with experience on the IT side
Expert at troubleshooting and repairing AV technology
Proficient with computer systems used in multimedia production
Familiarity with electronic equipment, internet applications and security
People person with excellent customer service skills
Flexible and able to work in a fast moving environment
Applicant will communicate closely with senior level personnel in building
Has ability to resolve issues with ease and a pleasant demeanor
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure
